Introducing our QVC Festival 2026 accompanists.
Our official accompanists are experienced musicians and collaborators who will support and guide you to prepare for your performances.
Working with these pianists will be a wonderful experience, helping you to grow in your singing and know what it is like to receive guidance from a professional accompanist.
Our official accompanist for the Operatic Aria section is John Woods.
Jennifer Enchelmaier
Jennifer is a sessional staff lecturer in French for musicians and pianist for vocal and instrumental students at the Queensland Conservatorium and collaborates with Voxalis and Springboard Opera. Solo and chamber music performances in recent years include a recital of contemporary works at Tempo Rubato, Melbourne and chamber music at the Newcastle Music Festival. A “sympathetic and conscientious interpreter” (Clive O’Connell) her recording of Light in Dark, the complete solo works of Australian composer Tom Henry, was featured in ABC Classic FM’s 2023 new releases.
Following studies at the Tasmanian Conservatorium with Beryl Sedivka, Jennifer pursued further training in France with Cécile Ousset and Odile Poisson and was awarded Premier Prix with distinction at the Conservatoire de Nice 2003/2004. She was a finalist at the 2006 Premio Fausto Zadra International piano competition in Italy. Jennifer has been pianist for Scottish Voices, Glasgow University, Scottish Opera’s education department, The Melba Opera Trust and Victorian Opera, as well as working at the VCA and Melbourne Conservatorium as an accompanist and lecturer in French and German for singers.
Jennifer was a vocal coach at the 2024 Lisa Gasteen National Opera School and is currently undertaking a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy at the Queensland Conservatorium.
John Woods
John studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and The Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. He has worked for the RNCM, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and since 1992, the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, as an accompanist and repetiteur. He has accompanied the masterclasses of several distinguished performers, including Dames Janet Baker, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Joan Sutherland.
Artemii Safonov
Artemii Safonov is a Brisbane-based pianist and composer with extensive experience as a soloist and collaborative musician across Australia.
His performance highlights include appearances at the Brisbane City Hall and QPAC, performing both as a soloist and as a chamber musician alongside the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Ensemble Q. A recipient of the John Nesbitt Endowment and the Raoul P. Neil Foundation Scholarship, Artemii has also received awards in national and international piano competitions.
As a collaborative pianist, Artemii regularly works with a wide range of musicians, providing accompaniment for recitals and competitions, and has recently served as an official accompanist for the 2025 Queensland Vocal Festival Competition. Artemii is a committee member of the Accompanists’ Guild of Queensland
Siu-Dea Law
Born in Hong Kong, Siu Dea migrated to New Zealand at an early age, where she received the greater part of her early musical training. As a Bachelor of Music (Hons) performance graduate from the University of Auckland, she went on to pursue post-graduate studies at Hochschule für Musik und Theatre in Hannover, Germany, under Prof. Arie Vardi and Prof.Vladimir Kraniew, successfully gaining both the performance and chamber music diplomas.
Subsequent years of residence in Germany and then Hong Kong, saw an active career as chamber musician, accompanist, in recitals, competitions, master classes and recordings, whilst also maintaining a private teaching practice.
In 2012 Siu Dea moved to Italy, where she obtained a Masters in Music Therapy from the Conservatorio Dall’Abaco in Verona. Since moving to Brisbane to join family in 2017, her commitment as a teacher, registered music therapist, and freelance performing musician continues in Australia
