Chopin Award 2027 - Application guidelines

The Marilyn Meier Chopin Award 2027 – Application Guidelines

1.      All applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 25 years at the date 1st of January 2027

2.      The application fee for the competition is $100 – this is non-refundable

3.      There is a pre-screening process for this competition whereby 12 applications will be chosen to take part as entrants in the competition.

4.      The dates for the competitive rounds are 25th – 26th of June 2027

Documents to be uploaded with application:

1.      Birth certificate

2.      Photo

3.      A letter of recommendation from current teacher

4.      A link to a video recording which is to be uploaded to www.youtube.com  - please ensure that the ‘private’ setting is marked if you do not wish for the application to be public.

Video Specifications:

1.      The video can be filmed on any smartphone or smart device. Quality is to be a minimum of 1080p at 60FPS (especially if using an iPhone).

2.      Sound is to be stereo sound.

3.      Keys, hands, feet, and body are to be completely visible for the entire duration of the recording. Please ensure that the camera is fixed rather than roaming.

4.      No editing of the video is allowed. Please make sure that the recording is completed in a single take.

Video Repertoire:

1.      Repertoire for the video audition will consist of the round 1 recital material. List is here: Chopin Rep List

 

Closing Dates

1.      The final date to upload the video audition is midnight the 31st of March 2027

2.      Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their audition by the 13th of April via email.
