The award celebrates the life of a beloved concert pianist, teacher, mother, and friend, Dr. Marilyn Meier. Further, the competition highlights her tireless devotion to the music of Chopin, and the long-lasting effect that her pianism had on her students and audiences across four decades in Australia and internationally.
